Later this spring, STEM Middle School will start its process of selecting sixth grade students for the 2025-26 school year.
STEM is a National Blue Ribbon School and a magnet middle school for academically gifted students within the district. The program follows the same Michigan Learning Standards as other middle schools. However, STEM moves at an accelerated pace and digs deeper into the standards. STEM students appreciate the rigor and pace because it offers them an engaging platform to strengthen their academic talents.
Admission is based on test scores. Please see the STEM Eligibility criteria for more details. Current fifth grade students within the district will be invited to STEM if they qualify. They do not need to apply. Invitations are expected to go out on April 30. Students who attend school elsewhere but live in the Dearborn Public Schools District and in-district students who would like to apply for any seventh grade openings, should see the STEM Admission Timeline for more details. Applications will open on April 7.
