Dear Miller Families,
It is with tremendous pride and enthusiasm that I write this letter as the newly appointed principal and instructional leader of Miller Elementary. I have served the Dearborn Public Schools since 2008. I began my journey as an interventionist then a bilingual resource teacher at Oakman Elementary. After eight years at Oakman, I was fortunate enough to start my administrative internship at Miller Elementary and Woodworth Middle School.
I have lived my entire life in Dearborn and I am a former graduate of Edsel Ford High School. I earned an Education degree from the University of Michigan – Dearborn, my Masters in Education from Wayne State, and my Administrative Certification from the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals Path to Leadership Program. I have been married for eighteen years and my husband and I are the proud parents of three amazing children.
My journey with the Dearborn Schools has been a rewarding one in many ways and cultivating life-long relationships with students, staff, and families has been the most rewarding part of it all. Along with the teachers and staff at Miller, we will continue to build strong purposeful relationships with you, your children and our community partners.
For the last three years, I have had the pleasure of serving at Miller Elementary as the assistant principal. In those years, I have become a part of the rich culture and inspiring educational experience that Miller offers the students, families, and staff. As an established member of the Miller family, I can say with great pride that I am honored to lead this community. At Miller, we are committed to a school experience that ensures a safe, nurturing, and academically enriching environment in which each student can attain academic and social success through the collaboration and commitment of our students, teachers, parents, and community.
A strong partnership amongst all stakeholders is a key component to the successes of each of our students. As the principal, it is important to me that every person who comes through our doors knows that they are part of this community, and that they play an important role in the education of the students who attend Miller. This is essential to the positive and supportive environment that is necessary in our efforts to create the ideal learning platform for our students.
I am excited to continue to work with all of you this school year! Enjoy the remaining time of the summer and I look forward to welcoming you back to the start of the 2020 – 2021 school year!
