We are currently working on incredible stories in our reading program.  We just completed Raising Dragons, and now the students are working on The Garden of Abdul Gasazi.  This is a theme that the students really enjoy working on because they are able to use their imagination. The next theme that we will be working on is Animal Habitats.  Please continue reading with your child on a nightly basis.  Have them read out loud to practice fluency and retell the story. 

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends for reading to our classes during the month of March. 

Mrs. Moukalled along with the third grade teachers have been working with the third grade students on writing poetry and taking a stand.  The students just finished writing essays on having a dragon as a pet.  We encourage you to have your child keep a writing journal at home to practice using the writing process.  In the upcoming weeks we will

In math we are finishing unit 5 place value in whole numbers and decimals.  We will begin unit 6 Geometry.  Students will be expected to identify points, line segments, face of rectangular prisms, explore various types of triangles, draw angles, and review the meaning of symmetry.    In addition, we encourage the students to practice their multiplication facts every night.
